Volume 2, Issue 1: Letter from the Editor Kristen MacConnell, Ph.D.

Welcome to volume two, issue one of Globally Informed, an online peer reviewed journal for international educators, by international educators. In the first issue of this school year I find myself inspired by the content of the articles, the reflections from the authors, and the global collaboration that occurred in our section on student work.

In this issue we have a range of articles that include project-based learning, digital citizenship, service learning, sustainable school design, facilitated feedback using technology, and a thoughtful piece on reimaging school. In addition to these articles this issue features a beautiful photo essay from a service learning trip to Kenya. In our section on student work we have some powerful pieces of writing from 5th grade students as well as a TV show written, produced, and filmed by elementary school students. I hope you are inspired by the different authors’ contributions and find yourself discussing at least one idea from this issue with a colleague.

We are currently accepting submissions for our next issue. The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2018. Click here for more information. Please consider submitting student work on behalf of your students or encouraging your students to submit their work independently. We are actively trying to grow the student work section of the journal.

In addition to the journal we will be adding a new feature to the website: reviews of professional books. If you are interested in reviewing a book for the website, contact Kristen@globallyinformed.org.

Reflect. Collaborate. Inspire.
